1. Bergamot

Bergamot or Citrus × bergamia is a shrub that reaches about 4 m in height directly in the garden and 3 m in pots.

The branches are full of large, elongated leaves, which are slightly serrated.

Bergamot flowers are arranged at the end of the branches, they are large, with 5 pure white petals, and sometimes they have a pleasant fragrance.

2. Lobelia Cardinalis “Cardinal flower”

Lobelia Cardinalis is a flowering plant, which is native to America. It is characterized by having a foliage full of purple hues and by having cardinal red flowers.

The flowering of this plant is late, begins in August and lasts until autumn.

3. Heliconias “Lobster-claws”

Heliconias is a genus of brightly colored plants; it is also a plant that will help you attract hummingbirds to your garden.

They are long-lived plants that can live for about 20 years and reach 4 meters in height; they are bright green and leathery.

4. Duranta erecta

Duranta is a genus of flowering plants, which belongs to the Verbenaceae family. This genus includes shrubs and small trees endemic to America.

They are quite branched evergreen shrubs, which reach 6 meters in height. Its leaves are opposite, with an elliptical shape and an intense green color.

The flowers can be white, blue, lilac, or purple, and bloom in spring and summer. 

5. Calendula flowers

Calendula is a fairly aromatic herbaceous plant with an annual or perennial cycle, depending on the climate.

The stem grows horizontal, reaching a height of 20 to 55 cm and the leaves are 7 to 14 cm long and 1 to 4 cm wide.

Calendula flowers sprout during spring and summer and can last until autumn if the weather is mild; they are grouped in inflorescences 3 to 5 cm wide and orange-yellow in color.

Agapanthus is a herbaceous, perennial plant with very fleshy roots.

The leaves are born from a short stem, green. This stem is 30 to 50 cm long.
