1. Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum is a pretty flowering plant that helps filter out some toxins, such as ammonia and benzene, which are two elements frequently found in plastics, detergents, and glues.

These plants are native to Asia and Northeast Europe and grow to a height of approximately 150 cm. The leaves are alternate and are 4 to 9 cm long and 4 to 6 cm wide.

2. Dypsis lutescens

This is one of the best plants that help purify the air in general, specifically by removing formaldehyde, benzene, and carbon monoxide, which is useful if there are people in your home who smoke.

Its trunks are ringed and thin, about 30cm thick, which makes it ideal for all types of gardens.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is not only a plant used in cosmetics, gastronomy, pharmaceuticals, and decoration, but it is also capable of purifying the air and eliminating toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene, which are usually found in varnishes, floor cleaners. 

4. Epipremnum aureum “Devil’s ivy”

Epipremnum aureum is an ideal plant for offices and homes as it releases carbon monoxide and formaldehyde into the air.

5. Chlorophytum comosum “Spider plant”

Chlorophytum comosum is a hanging plant, quite easy to care for, with long and very luminous leaves.

In addition, these plants are perfect for decorating bathrooms and kitchens as they love humidity.

6. Hevea brasiliensis “Pará rubber tree”

It is a plant that belongs to the euphorbiaceae family and measures around 20 to 30 m in height.

It is easy to care for that can reach 40 meters high without any problem, although its minimum height is around 15 or 20 meters.

The leaves are quite long, reaching about 16 cm long and 7 cm.

7. Rhapis Excelsa “Broadleaf lady palm”

The Rhapis Excelsa is an evergreen palm tree with slender stems that can reach a little over 3 meters outside.

The leaves are deep green, about 30 cm long, and divided into narrow lobes and fan-shaped. During the summer, they bloom with long inflorescences of small yellowish flowers.

8. Ficus benjamina “Weeping fig”

Ficus benjamina is easy to grow; they are also perfect for those who have no gardening experience.

If you don’t take proper care of it, the plant can lose its leaves little by little or turn yellow.

9. Plectranthus verticillatus “Swedish Ivy”

Plectranthus verticillatus is a plant that belongs to the Lamiaceae family, which is a genus made up of around 350 different species.

It is an evergreen plant with opposite, oval, bright green leaves. does not exceed 30 centimeters.

The flowers have a tubular and bilabiate shape, gathered in clusters, of minimal importance.

During the spring and until the end of summer, it is convenient to add a mineral fertilizer with watering every 15 days. 

The irrigations will be more abundant in summer and less in winter.

This plant is one of the best indoor plants for purifying the air.
